High level French delegation visits FDDI

A high level delegation of Worms Management Services, France visited the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida on July 20, 2010.

“The concrete objective of the visit of delegation was to meet with the leaders of Indian leather market who understand and know the market well and also to have an idea of the capabilities of the graduates of FDDI.” Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI.

The delegation consisted of Mr. Thierry Lenoir, CEO, Worms Management Services and Chairman of SgT Group, Mr. Edgar Tung, CEO of SgT Group and Mrs. Emlyarn Baranowska.

During the visit the delegation met Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI and Mr. Deepak Kumar, IRS, Executive Director, FDDI.

Elaborating the details, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI said “The concrete objective of the visit of delegation was to meet with the leaders of Indian leather market who understand and know the market well and also to have an idea of the capabilities of the graduates of FDDI.”

Worms Management Services is a management company based in Paris, France. One of the companies it bought recently is a Hong Kong based company, SgT Group www.sgtgroup.net . SgT performs quality control of consumer goods. Mr. Lenoir is the Chairman of the board of SgT Group.

For almost 20 years, SgT has been dealing with quality control services exclusively for the textile industry and is able to offer technical expertise in the many different categories in the textile industry, from raw material to finished goods.

“They want to collaborate with FDDI for quality service including supply, inspection and testing as FDDI is known amongst the buyers for fair trade practices, competitive pricing, un- compromising attention to service, stringent quality control with zero defects and on delivery schedules,” added Mr. Lakhara.

During the visit of the delegation, the staffs of FDDI briefed about the services being provided by the Institute for the growth of the industry in the meeting which was presided over by the Secretary, FDDI, Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS.

“To meet-up with the requirement of our customers for inspection and testing services of leather goods and footwear we are looking for partners in India having flagship brand and we found that FDDI lab is on the top of the list,” said Mr. Thierry Lenoir, CEO, Worms Management Services and Chairman of SgT Group.

The delegation who visited FDDI to study the whole range of activities being undertaken by the Institute considered crucial for the growth of the industrial sector in the fast moving business environment were happy with the pan-India presence of FDDI which will serve their purpose as they want to source from India.

The delegation was highly impressed after visiting the International Testing Center of FDDI which has full-fledged Chemical and Physical Laboratories, where all kinds of chemical and physical tests like AZO, PCP; Formaldehyde etc., are performed within strict time schedules. The delegation also saw in brief, the specific tests with respect to PCP, PCB, BOD, COD, TOC, H-CHO, Hexavallent Chromium. They also visited the pilot plant, library, classrooms, computer center etc.
