Chinese CPL & nylon chip prices ascend

Jul '10
In Chinese market, Caprolactam prices continued to rise by RMB 100 / ton and new prices assessed around 19,600 / ton, its upstream product prices also continued to follow new high levels.

An improvement in buying sentiments may put upward pressure on the spot market, especially with lower supplies. But this is not expected to be strong enough to boost market prices in the near future.

In Chinese market, Nylon chips prices moved up by RMB 50 / ton and new prices assessed around RMB 21,550 / ton. Speculators expect that buying activity will remain unassuming in the near future and restocking demand will not emerge until end of current month, as downstream chip producers are still holding comfortable chip stocks.

Prices of Nylon POY, FDY and DTY remained stable around RMB 24,800 / ton, RMB 25,800 / ton and RMB 28,200 / ton, respectively. Filament buyers continued to follow minimal purchases on an as and when required basis, as basic demand is expected to remain seasonally low.
