Exports of Chinese cashmere products reached US $900 million from January to September 2010, an increase of 23.2 percent over the same period of 2009, according to customs statistics.
Among them, exports of cashmere and de-haired cashmere registered 1901 tons to generate a value of $140 million, up 44 percent and 64 percent y-o-y, respectively. year on year; exports of cashmere products scored US $780 million, up 17.9 percent year on year.
Shipments of cashmere yarn totaled to 2,837 tons, amounting to $237 million, up 22 percent and 44.8 percent, respectively. Exports of cashmere scarf stood at $81.62 million, up 15.3 percent year on year and cashmere sweater was $430 million, up 7 percent year on year.
China's cashmere exports continued to maintain a 20 percent growth from January to September this year. There are expectations that export growth of cashmere may occur in the fourth quarter, but the positive trend will be maintained and export growth is expected to be around 15 percent in 2010.
