Federal Govt removes textile items from prohibition list

The Federal Government of Nigeria has assessed the ban on textile materials, embroidered apparels and other printed fabrics and has eliminated these items from the prohibition list.
The notice has been circulated among the relevant agencies which consist of the Nigeria Customs Service and also the three service providers assigned with the task of inspection – Globalscan, SGS and Cotecna.
The notice “Revision of schedule three-import prohibition list (trade) of the 2008-2012 Common External Tariff (CET)”, which has been signed by Mr Olusegun Agang – the Finance Minsiter of the country, is expected to be implemented shortly.
