The Indian Commerce Ministry has initiated a sunset review of anti-dumping investigation on Chinese silk fabrics (Silk Fabric of weight 20 - 100 grams per meter, customs codes 50071000, 50072000, 50072010, 50072090) on December 6. The investigation period is from April 2009 to June 2010.
To recall, the designated authority in India had made a final ruling of anti-dumping case against China's silk fabrics (20-100 gms / metre) on November 16 and the determined dumping margins ranged between 24 to 54 percent.
The average dumping margin for all other responding companies but not selected to provide samples was 38 percent, while the dumping margin of two separate companies without providing samples was 42 percent.
Indian ministry of Commerce and Industry said in the disclosure of the facts that the involved products imported from China constituted dumping, thus causing damage to domestic industry.
