The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President A K Azad, while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of International Apparel Machinery, Fabrics and Accessories Trade show of Bangladesh recently said that, if enough attention is paid on ensuring the port and infrastructure facilities, power supply and maintenance of law and order situation, it may help to boost the garment sector's revenue to US$ 30-35 billion over the next four to five years.

Azad further stated that, last year the industry had registered a growth rate of 40 percent which is believed to rise further, very shortly, but then the government is expected to ensure logistic support for the industry to make this possible.

The Zakaria Trade and Fair International had organized the three-day fair in association with the ASK Trade and Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, at the city's Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. The event started on January 12 and concluded on January 15. Around 150 firms from over 24 countries had participated in the 10th Garmentech Bangladesh and IFA Sourcing Fair and showcased their products there.
