The 8th Convocation of NITRA for the academic year 2008-09 was held on Saturday, 14th November 2009 at NITRA Campus, Gaziabad.
This year 225 students received certificates from Smt. Rita Menon, IAS, Secretary, MoT, GoI. Sh. Praveen Nayyar, Vice Chairman, AEPC and Dr. J. N. Singh, IAS, Jt. Secretary, MoT, GoI were also present in the occasion.
Prior to the convocation, the 33rd Annual General Meeting was also held. Eminent industrialist Shri Shishir Jaipuria, MD, Ginni Filaments has been elected as the new Chairman of NITRA Council of Administration for the year 2009-10.
Shri R.L.Nolkha, CMD, Nitin Spinners Ltd. and Shri K.K.Agarwal, CMD, Alps Industries Ltd. have also been elected as the Deputy Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the council respectively.
