NSIC signs 2 agreements for skill enhancement in Odisha

India’s National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) recently signed two agreements for skill enhancement in Odisha. The first, between Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) and National Scheduled Tribe Finance Development Corporation, will set up a livelihood business incubator at Rourkela for tribal youth, and the second with SAP will train youth on enterprise software.

NSIC is under the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME).

The pacts were signed in state capital Bhubaneswar at the scheduled caste/scheduled tribe state conclave-cum-exhibition in the presence of Indian tribal affairs minister Jual Oram, petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

SAP India will leverage the well established network of NSIC Technical Service Centres, to create future ready workplace through training on ‘Business One’ software, according to a news agency report.

The ministers also inaugurated Dharmapada Bhawan, NSIC's largest office building in eastern India and an integrated marketing development centre, a one-stop-shop for MSMEs.

The new building will host offices of various government agencies like National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Skill Training Institute (NSTI). (DS)
