At the yearly industry day of the municipality, the prize was given by Annika Nordgren, municipal commissioner of Täby, in Sweden's Stockholm County.
Receiving the award, OrganoClick CEO Mårten Hellberg said, “It's an honour to be awarded with Täby municipality's environmental prize. We are very happy to be located in Täby and are now expanding our business rapidly due to a growing demand of our eco-labeled products.”
Founded in 2006 as a commercial spin-off company based on research performed at Stockholm University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences within environmentally friendly fibre chemistry, OrganoClick is known for its work with green chemistry and fibre based material.
The company markets water repellent fabric treatment OrganoTex, and has won a number of prizes including 'Sweden's Most Promising Start-up' and 'Sweden's Best Environmental Innovation'. (RKS)
