Polyester, viscose yarn prices rise in India on festive demand hopes

India's man-made fibre yarn market showed an upward trend with polyester spun and viscose yarn prices rising by ₹*-* per kg across key markets, driven by demand ahead of the festive and winter seasons.
Ludhiana saw stronger gains, while Surat remained stable.
Viscose yarn prices also increased in Mumbai and Surat.
Meanwhile, cotton prices in north India eased due to weak demand and limited arrivals.

In Ludhiana, polyester spun yarn gained &#****;*–* per kg. Following a hike in virgin polyester fibre prices, yarn rates have surged &#****;*–* per kg over the past two weeks. The fabric industry is transitioning from summer to winter production planning. A trader from Ludhiana told Fibre2Fashion, “Demand for polyester garments typically rises post-summer, prompting manufacturing units to focus on polyester fabrics. The upcoming festive season is also encouraging demand. However, polyester-cotton yarn demand has shown no improvement.”
