The price of PVC suspension in Far East and Southeast Asia is expected to surge in the near future due to buoyant import offers from overseas manufacturers. Some orders have been finalised at high price points. The unavailability of the product in these regions and increasing freight rates due to shortage of containers will also cause the prices to rise.

CFR (cost and freight) price of PVC suspension was $1,188.57 per metric ton in Far East Asia in January 2021, which went up by 12.32 per cent to $1,335 per metric ton in June 2021. But it dropped slightly by 3.06 per cent to $1,294.09 per metric ton in August 2021, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market analysis tool TexPro.

The price will increase again in December to reach $1,493.08 per metric ton, rising by 15.38 per cent over the price in August 2021.

On the other hand, in Southeast Asia, the CFR price of PVC suspension was $1,238.57 per metric ton in January 2021. It increased by 8.96 per cent to $1,349.55 per metric ton in June 2021 but dropped slightly by 2.66 per cent to $1,313.64 per metric ton in August 2021.

The price in Southeast Asia is expected to escalate again to $1,484.28 per metric ton in December 2021, rising by 12.99 per cent over the price in August 2021.
