Propylene prices in Asia & US markets gain strength

Propylene prices in the Far East region, which have continued to move in the northwards direction, kept up the momentum on July 29, when compared with prices quoted on the previous Wednesday.

FOB South Korea marched up from US $1020-1022 per ton to $1081-1083per ton to seize a gain of $61 per ton over the closing of July 22.

Prices of Propylene (polymerization level), FD Northwest Europe and CIF Northwest, which had moved substantially on last Wednesday, preferred to stay stable at €740-750 per metric ton and €730-740 per metric ton respectively, when compared with those prevailing on July 22.

Propylene prices in the US markets, which had fallen marginally on July 22, rebounded once again on July 29, from US cent 36.255-36.505 per lb to US cent 37.625-37.875 per lb.
