RedCarpet365 talks on Chattogram's budding textile sector

The potential of Chattogram’s textile and garment machinery industry was highlighted by RedCarpet365 at a press conference. The forum was held on the occasion of BIGTEX, Bangladesh International Garment & Textile Machinery expo 2018, which will be held from May 10 to 12, 2018. The event will gather global textile factory owners and apparel exporters.

The press conference was led by Fatematuj Johra, director marketing – Redcarpet365 Ltd, along with Ahmed Imtiaz, CEO – Redcarpet365 Ltd. Md. Althaf Uddin, senior joint secretary (administration) – BKMEA Chittagong office briefed about BKMEA’s role in this exhibition and in the textile industry of Bangladesh.

Manzurul Ahsan Chowdhury, executive director - Well Group gave his inputs about the importance of these exhibitions and recent needs of quality manufacturers and exporters. Fazle Karim Liton, managing director of jack machinery import and export, Chattogram, briefed about potential of Chattogram’s textile and garment machinery market, Abdullah Al Maruf, director marketing – Redcarpet365 Ltd, Sougath Majumder, director operations – Redcarpet365 Ltd talked about the participants and products that will be displayed at the expo.

Ahmed mentioned that the expo will have almost 120 stalls with products from 12 countries including Bangladesh, China, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka, and Turkey. He also added, that the vast economic potential of Chittagong, a city with unique advantages of ports, roads and railways, largely remains untapped. The port city can well drive the economy to achieve the coveted middle income status and reach the target of US $50 billion garment export.

These exhibitions will play an important role with the latest machineries, technologies, dyes / chemicals, yarns, fabrics available for Bangladesh on display with global manufacturers / suppliers. These exhibitions will also provide an opportunity to experts, engineers, and technicians in the field of textile to have a practical knowledge of the recent technological advancements available, without going abroad.
