Thang was addressing the Vietnam-Bangladesh Business Forum 2025 organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) in Dhaka.
She said both countries had imposed high tariffs on the import of products by each.
The unexplored sectors could have higher potential if tariff and non-tariff barriers could be removed along with simplifying transport, communication and logistics systems, an FBCCI press release said citing the Vietnamese Deputy Minister.
Additional secretary in Bangladesh’s Commerce Ministry Abdur Rahim Khan agreed to Thang’s views, saying tariff and non-tariff barriers should be removed and the mode of transaction between the two countries should be simplified.
FBCCI administrator Mohammad Hafizur Rahman mentioned some potential sectors for collaboration like renewable energy, agro-processing and information and communication technology.
