Research centre on hybrid cotton seeds to be set up

A major transgenic project of the National Research Center will be set up in Qihe, Shandong, in China with an investment of 38 million Yuan from Jinan Xin Rui Seed Science & Technology Co., Ltd.

The modified gene project is a project of national importance, initiated by the State Council. The Centre will conduct research of new varieties of genetically modified cotton.

The main task of the Centre is; research and study, sort and establish hybrid cotton seeds and conventional breeding monitoring, improve genetically technology systems which support production of cotton, seed production safety and quality monitoring system, establish, stabilize and improve base infrastructure of seed production.
