Scoop, the contemporary womenswear show to be held at London’s Saatchi Gallery, from February 10-12, 2019, has collaborated with V&A museum to display its AW19 collection. V&A is the world’s leading museum of art, design, and performance. The collection displayed will be based on the opulent floral designs of famous fashion designer, William Kilburn.

Irish-born William Kilburn was the most famous designer of block-printed cottons in the 18th century and his work was admired and imitated during his lifetime. The Kilburn Album, which is one of the V&A’s most treasured items, holds 200 botanical designs for printed textiles.

Inspired by its intricacy, pattern and colour, Scoop will celebrate the V&A’s bountiful archive of Kilburn’s pattern throughout the show and across all show material. Cult British brand Pyrus London will be using the print to create designs for Scoop staff to wear on-site and Ratti Spa will be producing co-ordinating silk scarves. British stationery brand Papier will be providing notebooks featuring the beautiful print, according to a press release on the trade show.

“We’re hugely excited to be collaborating with the V&A, a museum which has been synonymous with creativity in art and design throughout its history and remains at the vanguard of innovative design today. We feel honoured to have been given access to some truly incredible designs from the V&A archive and are looking forward to developing the collaboration further between now and the February edition of the show,” Karen Radley, founder and managing director of Scoop said.

“We are delighted to be working with Scoop for their February 2019 edition. The V&A’s collection of fashion and textiles is world- renowned, so it is fitting that we collaborate with Scoop. The V&A’s rich archive has inspired designers and manufacturers around the world for generations and we continue to support emerging talent in the fashion industry,” Lauren Sizeland, head of business development and licensing at the V&A said.
