Worms Safety, the alliance of specialists in safety and quality management which owns Sgt, has acquired Qualspec, Australia’s leading textile quality assurance certified body. With the new addition, Sgt has expanded its textile testing capabilities in China with two additional laboratories in Shanghai and Huizhou taking the total laboratories to ten.

Sgt has laboratories in Jiaxing and Ningbo in China; Oraison, France; Istanbul, Turkey; New Delhi, India; Semarang, Indonesia; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Hong Kong.

“Sgt and Qualspec will work closely together, capitalising on each other’s technical capabilities, market knowledge and textile expertise,” Sgt said in a statement.

Founded in Sydney, Australia in 1994, Qualspec started offering testing and inspection services to the country’s major retailers and their suppliers who were then manufacturing locally as well as sourcing from Fiji and China. Textile testing laboratories were then set up in Huizhou and Shanghai. (RKS)
