As a company, Shree Pushkar Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd believes in zero waste model. It has became a BlueSign System Partner proving that its industrial practices are met and sustained to the top standards. The company treats and uses each line of waste that is generated from its manufacturing units and uses those to make value-added products.

The company deals in specialty chemicals which are a group of relatively high-value and low-volume chemicals known for their end-user applications and performance-enhancing properties. It is a highly knowledge-driven industry and the critical success factors include understanding customer needs and product developments to meet the same at a favourable price-performance ratio.

“Within specialty chemicals, colourants, a $4.1 billion industry, is one of the fastest-growing industry segments in India. Low margins and return on investment due to increase in operating and capital costs and tightening of environment norms discourage existing and new capacity in China,” told chairman and managing director, Punit Makharia in an interview to Fibre2Fashion. “India will continue to gain from this, shifting from toxic commodities to speciality, eco-friendly colourants and will witness a shift from small and unorganised to large players.”

“In terms of new innovations, Shree Pushkar Chemicals has started test-marketing auxiliary chemicals. The vision of the company is to become a complete textile solutions provider. It has been focusing on increasing revenue from the higher margin dyes business through the export and domestic markets. It has launched Dyecol for dyestuff and is looking to capture more value by leveraging its marketing capabilities,” added Makharia.

The factories of Shree Pushkar are located in Lote Parshuram, Maharashtra and have a capacity of 9,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of dye intermediates, 6,000 TPA of reactive dyes, 2,46,000 TPA of fertilisers, etc. Almost 52 per cent of the business of Shree Pushkar Chemicals is contributed by dye intermediates, 27 per cent by dyestuff and the rest by products like fertilizers and cattle feed.
