Sihl showcases new sublimation papers range at ITMA

The Sihl Sublicolor product range consists of nine sublimation papers divided into four categories – Premium, Universal, Sport and Superdry. The Premium category enables printing under all standard conditions using all standard aqueous sublimation inks. The Universal category uses all-rounder papers for high colour transfer rates and excellent drying times. The Sport category is for printing stretchable fabrics generally used in sportswear. The Superdry sublimation papers are for use in high speed industrial printers which print using Kyocera or Ricoh print heads.

Using dye sublimation inks, the print image is mirror-printed to the special Sihl transfer papers and then using heat from a hot-calender (approximately180-200°C), the image is transferred to the fabric.

Talking about the strengths of this product, the press release states that it offers excellent durability of colours, especially to weathering, UV radiation and washing. A smooth, reliable production is ensured by the excellent flatness of the products.

One can find many applications of this product in sectors like fashion, sport, clothes, advertising, interior design and promotional items. Relevant examples include flags, banners, roll-ups, functional sportswear, skis, snowboards, shoes, promotional products, ceramic tiles, carpet tiles, mugs or cups – just to name a few. (MCJ)
