Swiss-owned textile company based in Singapore, Santis Textiles, has applied for trademark of its product in the US and Singapore markets. Already registered in Europe, the company has taken the step to ameliorate the RCO100 technology and is keen to support ongoing steps towards enhancing the longevity of the industry as well as the planet.

With the trademark of RCO100, Santis Textiles is developing long-term resilience in the marketplace and supporting the education of consumers with regards to the benefits of a circular textile economy and what can be achieved with recycled technologies, specifically RCO100, the company said in a media release.

RCO100 technology works by taking pre-consumer industrial waste and post-consumer cotton garment waste to produce 100 per cent recycled cotton yarns without the use of chemical processes or regenerated fibres.

In 2021, through its ongoing partnership with companies such as PVH Corp and Lacoste, Santis Textiles recycled 100,000 tonnes of cotton helping to reduce overall waste in the textiles industry.

Since its conception in 2016, RCO100 technology has been implemented by global brands to produce 100 per cent recycled cotton wovens, nonwovens and knits, providing more circular design solutions for the modern designer.

“The motivation behind RCO100 has always been to provide innovative and high-quality solutions for garment fabrics with a focus on sustainability. Using our engineering technology, which can be scaled up for the good of the planet, our company is on a journey to find solutions for textile problems. Expanding our trademark allows us to continue to deliver such quality, setting a standard in the industry and ensuring that we continue to actively improve the circular economy one metre at a time,” creative director at Santis Textiles, Annabelle Hutter, said.
