Spain-based Pyrates Smart Fabrics, whose major markets are northern Europe, the Gulf and the United States, wants to expand to Asia and South America, according to CEO Regina Polanco, who says their USP is natural performance fabrics compared to other smart fabrics that tend to heavily rely on synthetic fibres or lack any functionality when natural.

The company has developed a range of five different smart fabrics, at the core of which are natural active fibres with caring properties for the skin and the body, such as blood circulation improvement, muscle relaxation, skin moisture improvement, skin cells regeneration and boosting the immune system, Polanco told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.
