Convergence of international speakers and discussion on relevant topics are going to be the agenda for the upcoming Sustainable Apparel and Textiles Conference. The two-day conference is scheduled on April 28-29, 2020 at Amsterdam. The discussion topics will include consumer engagement and reducing climate impacts across fashion and textile supply chains.

The two-day conference agenda is segmented into open discussions, candid dialogues, insightful speaker address, and practical sessions. More than 200 delegates are expected to attend the conference and initiate dialogues on topics ranging from planning to implementing sustainable practices across apparel and textile supply chains.

The breakout session is branched into four broad categories—social impact, environmental performance, factory engagement, consumer trust and expectations. Industry stalwarts from companies like Hugo Boss, Stella McCartney, Lenzing Group, Dupont, Mastercard, VF Corp, Fenix Outdoor Group, PEFC, Eillen Fisher, etc have already confirmed their participation.

Representatives from international trade bodies like the Cotton Council International, European Commission, and Sustainable Apparel Coalition will also be present at the conference.

Conference agenda highlights:

  • Emerging trends and the future of (sustainable) fashion- Major opportunities in ethical fashion to be discussed
  • Circular fashion- Involving designers in circular practice
  • Second hand, repair, rental- The new disruptive business model and its impact
  • Government intervention and incentives- Discussions on the incentives to control waste impacts
  • Key trends and market transformation- Insight into sourcing trends

The conference will be an open forum to get knowledge on the best practices adopted by the industry leaders by better implementation of policies. It will also act as a networking platform to meet influential stakeholders, representing NGOs, government and industry bodies and supply chain people.
