TAI honours 2 textile industrialists in Coimbatore

The Textile Association of India (TAI) recently honoured Premier Mills chairman R Jagadish Chandran and Lakshmi Machine Works chairman and managing director Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu with lifetime achievement award and industrial excellence award respectively for their contribution to the growth of the industry. The award was presented at a conference in Coimbatore.
TAI president TK Sengupta said the association had some specific objectives, including promoting the use of scientific knowledge in textiles from fibre to garment and to implement programmes of continued education in textile technology management, according to a news agency report. (DS)
