At the show, new concepts and techniques were described to reduce consumption of water, chemicals and energy, which sparked informative discussions during the forum sessions, TCL organisers said in a statement. There were ample networking opportunities for all participants during the breaks in and around the exhibition area and at the evening reception.
For the first time at a TCL conference, developments in smart and functional textiles had its own session with talks on graphene and 2D materials enabling wearable and textile electronics; printing and coating technologies to develop smart textiles; advanced applications of phase-change materials and new mechanism for delivering thermo regulation.
The conference director of TCL 2019 was William C Smith of Industrial Textile Associates, and the conference chair was Adrian Wilson. TCL 2019 was the latest in this conference series spanning 27 years and uniquely concerned with innovations and trends in textile coating and laminating. (PC)
