Turkey apparel exports up 1.61% in Jan-September 2019

Apparel exports from Turkey increased by 1.61 per cent in the first nine months of 2019, according to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute. From January to September 2019, Turkey exported apparel worth $11.709 billion, compared to exports of $11.523 billion clocked during the first nine months of 2018, the data showed.
Category-wise, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS chapter 61) earned $6.737 billion during the nine-month period, registering a decrease of 0.1 per cent from $6.745 billion earned during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) were valued at $4.972 billion, up 4.1 per cent from $4.778 billion exports made in the same period of 2018.
Meanwhile, exports of carpets, mats and tapestries (HS chapter 57) were up 10.3 per cent to $1.801 billion during the period under review.
