Turkiye apparel exports dip 6% but show stabilisation in Oct

Turkiye's apparel exports fell *.*0 per cent to $******** billion during January–October 2025, but October data signalled stabilisation, with shipments under HS 61 and HS 62 slipping only *.*0 per cent.
Knitted exports were flat while woven apparel remained under pressure due to rising Asian competition.
At the same time, imports of woven garments grew sharply.

Exports of knitted and crocheted goods (HS Chapter **) fell *.* per cent to $*.*** billion, down from $*.*** billion a year earlier. Woven apparel and accessories (HS Chapter **) recorded a sharper contraction of *.* per cent to $*.*** billion, compared with $*.*** billion in January–October ****. The steeper fall in HS ** reflects stronger price-based competition from Asian suppliers, especially in women’s and formal wear segments where cost sensitivity is high.

October data showed short-term stabilisation. Knitted and crocheted apparel exports inched up to $***.*** million from $***.*** million in October ****, indicating near-flat performance. Non-knitted apparel decreased *.* per cent year on year to $***.*** million from $***.*** million. Combined shipments under HS ** and HS ** declined only *.** per cent to $*.*** billion. This minor contraction suggests that order volumes are no longer falling at the pace seen in early ****.
