UL acquires Consumer Testing Laboratories

UL, an independent safety science company has acquired Consumer Testing Laboratories Inc. (CTL), which specialises in consumer product testing. UL will leverage CTL's facilities in five countries to extend its reach to its customer base and to offer a larger portfolio of services to these customers. The transaction closed on October 4, 2016.

UL was set up more than 120 years ago and employs more than 11,000 professionals. The company partners businesses, manufacturers, trade associations and international regulatory authorities to bring solutions to a complex global supply chain.

Established in 1952, CTL is a leading multinational retail testing company, which offers a comprehensive suite of retail testing services to help ensure the quality of merchandise that reach store locations. (AR)
