University of Arkansas global campus and School of Human Environmental Sciences have partnered to offer a 5-week long introduction to textile science course at the global campus facility in Rogers, Arkansas, USA.

The course, scheduled to begin from May 31, 2016, will explore textile fibres and fabrics; their structure, properties, manufacture, and wearing qualities; and methods of laundering, finishing, and dyeing.

Course participants will be able to identify fabrics by construction, dyeing, printing and/or finishing techniques. The course helps develop a professional approach in the selection of textiles for end use consumption of apparel, home furnishings, and select industrial products; communicate with consumers about the use and care of textile products; and begin a professional reference file based on textile products.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion from the School of Human Environmental Sciences and the global campus. (HO)
