Germany’s exports of industrial textiles were valued at $217.831 million in January 2025. Exports to the US accounted for 5.40 per cent of this total, amounting to $14.672 million. The US slipped to third place among Germany’s top export destinations for industrial textiles, after being the leading market with a 7.59 per cent share in January 2024, when Germany exported $204.948 million worth of these products out of total exports worth $2,698.647 million, according to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro.
In January 2025, Poland emerged as the top market with a 7.67 per cent share. Germany’s exports to Poland were valued at $16.699 million in the first month of the current year. Poland was the second-largest market last year, with a 7.12 per cent share. In 2024, Germany had exported industrial textiles worth $192.205 million to Poland. Among the top five markets in January 2025, Italy held a 5.69 per cent share, China 4.98 per cent, and France 4.87 per cent.
Interestingly, Poland and the US have alternated as Germany's top markets in recent years. Poland was the top market in 2021, with a 7.74 per cent share, as Germany exported $207.635 million worth of industrial textiles to the country out of total exports of $2,682.215 million. In the same year, the US was the second-largest market, receiving $181.765 million worth of exports, representing a 6.78 per cent share, according to TexPro.
The US became the top market in 2022, accounting for 7.81 per cent of Germany’s total exports of $2,641.645 million. Exports to Poland that year were valued at $183.979 million, making up 7.34 per cent of the total. However, Poland reclaimed the top spot in 2023 with a 7.06 per cent share, as Germany exported $192.132 million worth of industrial textiles to the country, out of total exports of $2,723.155 million. Exports to the US that year amounted to $183.699 million, or 6.75 per cent of the total.
