China continues to be the second-largest trading partner of India, with $127.7 billion in two-way commerce in the fiscal compared to $118.4 billion in the previous.
In the last fiscal, India's exports to the United States rose by 11.6 per cent to $86.51 billion compared to $77.52 billion in FY24. Imports were up by 7.44 per cent in FY25 to $45.33 billion against $42.2 billion in FY24. The trade surplus with the United States touched $41.18 billion in the last fiscal from $35.32 billion in FY24.
India’s trade deficit with China widened by 17 per cent to $99.2 billion in the period. India's exports to China dropped by 14.5 per cent in FY25 to $14.25 billion compared to $16.66 billion in FY24. In contrast, imports from there jumped by 11.52 per cent in the fiscal to $113.45 billion against $101.73 billion in FY24.
China was India's top trading partner from FY14 till FY18 and also in FY21. Before China, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the country's largest trading partner.
With bilateral trade worth $100.5 billion, the UAE was the third largest trading partner of India in the last fiscal.
