The US National Council of Textile Organisations (NCTO) recently re-elected David Roberts, chief executive officer (CEO) of Cap Yarns, as chairman and David Poston, president of Palmetto Synthetics, as vice chairman. It also elected chairs for each of its four councils. NCTO President and CEO Kim Glas made the announcement after the elections.

“This is a critical juncture for our industry, which answered the call of the nation to produce lifesaving personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic,” Glas said in a statement.

Clover, South Carolina-based Cap Yarns is a specialty yarn manufacturer and a leader in developing unique yarns for the knitting and weaving industry, whereas Kingstree, South Carolina-based Palmetto Synthetics is a leading specialty synthetic fibre producer that has provided specialty thermoplastic fibres to companies across the globe.

David Poston, Robin Perkins of Frontier Yarns, Leib Oehmig of Glen Raven and Ian Mills of Fi-Tech will chair the fiber council, yarn council, fabric and home furnishings council and industry support council respectively.
