Vardhman launches functional fabrics for face masks

Sensing the need for PPE due to COVID-19, integrated textile producer Vardhman Group has come up with an innovative range of functional fabrics for face masks designed to provide both safety and comfort to the wearer. The fabric offers better breathability and being anti-microbial, it is safer and superior to the masks made out of ordinary fabric.

The fabric collection, launched by the Group, is customisable, eco-friendly and reusable. With the availability of a variety of finishes, these breathable fabrics are suitable to create the soft inner lining of the masks as well as the water-repellant outer layer.

The innovative range of fabrics is dedicated to delivering safety with comfort even when the mask is required to be worn for long hours. The special range of functional fabrics have anti-microbial properties with the comfort and softness of fabric.

Vardhman had recently introduced PPE kits manufactured at its Ludhiana-based garmenting unit which received approval from Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for supply to healthcare providers.

The newly launched fabric for face masks shall cater to the needs of factory workers, office goers as well as school-going children. The masks made out of these fabrics being reusable and washable are also a sustainable alternative.
