According to Thomas Dislich, managing director of Vicunha Textil for Europe and Asia, in spite of a visibly smaller audience at Denim Première Vision, the company is drawing a positive conclusion and sees itself as being well positioned for the new season.

"We did welcome good-quality international visitors to our Vicunha stand at Denim Première Vision from countries such as Brazil, France, Great Britain, Italy, Morocco and Tunisia. Less visitors in Paris? Yes definitely, but still we had quite a few good meetings on our stand to make the effort worthwhile. While the topic of sustainability is firmly embedded in our company's DNA, there is also a very high demand for it from the denim market itself."

Mainly the innovative high-tech items were met with great interest at the event. "We were therefore delighted to be invited by Denim PV to take part in the 'Innovation Trail', in which we were able to showcase our high-tech and high-performance fabrics with antibacterial, moisture-absorbing and temperature-regulating properties in an iPad presentation" Dislich said.

Another highlight during Denim PV was the company's newly launched collaboration with British sunglasses manufacturer Mosevic. The frames of the glasses are made from resin-bonded layers of 100 per cent denim. "For our second edition, we have opted for a collection made of Vicunha's 'Ever Black' fabric and it's incredibly cool and stylish!" (SV)
