Viscose compact yarn further down in India; PC, polyester yarn stable

PC and polyester yarn prices remained steady in the Ludhiana market, though there was slightly better demand for PC yarn. Polyester spun yarn saw weaker demand during the last fortnight of fiscal ****-**. A trader from Ludhiana told Fibre2Fashion, “PC yarn noticed slightly better buying as cotton prices have risen in recent weeks. But tight payment conditions and annual closing were major factors for the bearish tone in polyester yarn. Demand may improve next month.” Virgin polyester fibre prices eased by &#****;* to &#****;*** per kg as major domestic producers reduced prices following declines in global crude oil prices. However, recycled polyester fibre prices increased by &#****;* per kg due to shortages and rising prices of PET bottles faced by local manufacturers.
