Xiefu joins Covestro's partner manufacturer programme

Kunshan Xiefu New Material, a China-based producer of PU coated fabric for global markets, has joined INSQIN partner manufacturer programme of Covestro, a leading polymer materials supplier.

As part of Covestro's certified manufacturer network, the two companies will collaborate to promote efficient and sustainable PU materials in sectors such as fashion apparel and footwear, a company release said.

Under the programme, Covestro will provide world-class technical support to help Xiefu further develop its use of the INSQIN technology. Xiefu will also receive verification of its production processes and management systems via a globally recognised third-party audit.

Launched in July 2015, the INSQIN partner manufacturer programme connects manufacturers and brand owners across the polyurethane (PU)-coated fabric supply chain. Partners must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to sustainability and transparency, using Covestro's waterborne, PU coating technology and industry-leading processes to meet the emerging sustainability needs of brand owners.

Duksung, a Korean PU synthetic materials manufacturer, was the first to join the programme. Xeifu has new become the second partner company, as well as the first Chinese company to join the programme.
