Five new consumer products that utilize nonwoven fabrics in an innovative manner have been nominated as finalists for the 2013 Visionary Award.

Now in its 12th year, the Visionary Award – which is given annually to a new consumer product that utilizes nonwoven fabrics in its final form – will be presented at the VISION 2013 Consumer Products Conference, to be held January 28-31, 2013 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Florida USA. The finalists will make presentations during VISION 2013 and conference attendees will vote on the recipient of the 2013 Visionary Award.

The annual VISION Conference is organized by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, and each year it brings together executives from nonwovens and consumer products companies for three days of industry leading information and networking.

The five finalists are:

1. Company: Diversitech

Product:  Diversitech Merv 8+ and Diversitech Merv 9. The pleated filter is constructed using a proprietary over-molding process. It has a full frame but takes up half a much storage space as a conventional cardboard filter because it is nestable when stacked.

2. Company:  Kimberly-Clark Worldwide

Product: Poise Panty Fresheners. These feminine fresheners are equipped with a clean and fresh scent that lasts up to four hours.

3. Company: Dude Products

Product: Dude Wipes. Dude Wipes incorporate social packaging and humorous niche-driven branding to change male hygiene routines and behavior. The product is wallet-sized, is flushable and biodegradable and contains vitamin E and aloe.

4. Company: Nice-Pak Products

Product: Grime Boss Hand Wipes with Power. The dual-sided applicator of Grime Boss provides a tough-side to scrub out dirt as well as a soft side that is gentle enough for a consumer’s skin and face.

5. Company: VitaFlex

Product: VitaFlex Soft-stretch Hood. Utilizing a latex-free elastic nonwoven fabric, the hood provides greener and less expensive primary head protection. It effectively covers the entire scalp, face, and neck, allows freedom of head movement and retains its comfortable fit.
