Gallery Dusseldorf fulfills overall expectations - Igedo

To the tune of 5,000 trade visitors attended the three trade show destinations – Botschaft, Hammer Hallen and Rheinlandsaal. Renowned department stores and specialist retailers such as KaDeWe, Braun, Jades, Uli Knecht, Frauenschuh, Lodenfrey and Off & Co. sent their buyers to browse and order the 2015 Spring/Summer collections of the 450 presented labels. The premium brands of the Italian agencies in the Medienhafen venue voiced their particular satisfaction.
 
Commenting on this Ulrike Kähler, Project Director of National Trade Shows at the Igedo Company, said, “In today’s information society mature ideas with an underlying concept play a far more prominent role than before. Our exhibitors have responded to this and have adapted the presentation of their labels. We are pleased that THE GALLERY DÜSSELDORF has fulfilled our expectations overall.”
 
The further development of the trade show concept of THE GALLERY DÜSSELDORF in keeping with the slogan “More Space – More Fashion” proved its worth. Visitors from 16 countries used the regular and frequent shuttle service linking the various segments of the order platform. The integration of kids’ fashion allowed many exhibitors to showcase their entire ranges.
 
The highlight of the supporting programme was the conferral of the title “First German Design Ambassador” from the Association of German Fashion and Textile Designers (Verband deutscher Mode- und Textil-Designer e.V. – VDMD,) to renowned Düsseldorf designer Thomas Rath at a press breakfast at the Botschaft on Cecilienallee. In an entertaining interview Rath commented on this recognition: “Being a Design Ambassador is a great responsibility that I appreciate and honour. Here at the heart of the North Rhine Westphalian capital we make couture-like design that enjoys international success. I stand for feminine, edgy elegance that is well-liked and I make women happy – and they make me happy – good design is that easy.”
 
In the afternoon, jointly with Ulrike Kähler, he opened THE GALLERY SELECTED SHOW powered by the Igedo Company, where nine labels presented a cross-section of the portfolio of this order platform at the former screw-making factory. The following Barbeque@THE GALLERY saw an in-depth exchange on the current state of affairs in the industry. The concluding highlight was a photo shoot in the Red Carpet Segment, the area for evening wear at the ›Rheinlandsaal‹ of the Hilton Hotel.
