NILIT, a manufacturer of nylon (polyamide) 6.6 for thermoplastics and apparel applications, and LincSpun, which has made breakthrough developments leading to the production of the Trinomax yarn, have together launched a high-performance yarn that will regulate body temperature.

The new yarn Trinomax AQ, which blends Merino wool, NILIT Aquarius, and NILIT nylon 6.6, will be useful for sportswear, dancewear and socks. LincSpun technology is used to twist together the three yarns that were chosen owing to their unique individual qualities.

The NILIT nylon 6.6 textured filament was chosen for its ability to offer durability, while Merino wool regulates body temperature. The NILIT Aquarius enables a triple-T cross-section for high-speed wicking. Even after repeated washing, the hydrophilic qualities of the fibre will not make the fabric wear off, according to NILIT.

The design of Trinomax AQ yarn is such that it will quickly absorb moisture, and stabilize the wearer's optimum body temperature.

LincSpun chose to use nylon 6.6 yarns to make Trinomax AQ due to the high quality of yarns, according to Jean-Michel Libeau, Director of LincSpun. The company is expecting that Trinomax AQ will greatly enhance its offering of advanced yarns for activewear, socks, and sportswear.

Trinomax AQ has technologically advanced moisture management properties, and natural softness.

“LincSpun's unique technology has enabled the development of Trinomax AQ, an exceptional yarn which offers the qualities that consumers look for in clothing. These include comfort, durability, light weight and softness. The combination of Merino wool with NILIT Aquarius yarn has resulted in the creation of the ultimate fabric for athletes,” Alon Weiser, R&D and technical service manager at NILIT, said.
