Cambodia’s General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) recently reduced or eliminated customs duties for members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Korea.

It amended a sub-decree that was approved by Prime Minister Hun Manet on December 3 last year.

The initiative is being implemented with the ASEAN Harmonised Tariff Nomenclature (AHTN) 2022.

The aim is to strengthen regional trade and economic cooperation, according to domestic media reports.

The amendment aligns Cambodia’s tariff structure with regional standards, facilitates smoother cross-border trade and improves market access for goods traded within ASEAN and with South Korea.
