Taiwan's textile exports grow 11.54% in Jan-April 2021

According to the data, Taiwan exported $188.698 million worth of fibres during the January-April 2021 period, which accounted for 6.57 per cent of all textile and garment exports from the country.

Yarn exports earned $416.238 million and accounted for 14.50 per cent of all Taiwanese textile and apparel exports during the period under review. While fabric exports' share was 67.67 per cent.

Apparel exports were valued at $139.340 million, whereas madeups fetched $184.061 million for the country.

Vietnam and China were major markets for Taiwanese textiles with these countries importing goods worth $781.274 million and $447.525 million, respectively, during the period under review.

Region-wise, the EU-27 nations imported $105.761 million worth of textiles and garments, accounting for 3.68 per cent share of all textile and clothing exports made by Taiwan during the period, while the US imported goods valued at $230.476 million, contributing 8.03 per cent to Taiwanese exports.

During the same period, Taiwan’s textile and clothing imports stood at $1.219 billion, registering a growth of 17.53 per cent year-on-year. Nearly half or $630.342 million worth of imports belonged to the apparel category, whereas fibre imports accounted for $104.134 million, yarn $170.255 million, fabric $180.764 million, and madeups $133.901 million.
