Turkey apparel exports up 1.54% in Jan-November 2019

Apparel exports from Turkey increased by 1.54 per cent in the first eleven months of 2019, according to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute. From January to November 2019, Turkey exported apparel worth $14.399 billion, compared to exports of $14.180 billion clocked during the first eleven months of 2018, the data showed.
Category-wise, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS chapter 61) earned $8.401 billion during the eleven-month period, same as the amount earned during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) were valued at $5.998 billion, up 3.4 per cent from $5.803 billion exports made in the same period of 2018.
Meanwhile, exports of carpets, mats and tapestries (HS chapter 57) were up 11.3 per cent to $2.306 billion during the period under review.
