Chinese apparel firm Fast Fish selects Aptos IT solutions

Aptos has announced the addition of Fast Fish to its customer portfolio. A leader in fast-fashion casual wear, Fast Fish has selected Aptos solutions for forecasting, merchandise financial planning, and assortment planning for all of its products. Aptos offers point of sale, digital commerce, order management, and customer relationship management solutions.

“The project with Aptos is strategic to our future. We hold the ambition to quintuplicate the number of our stores, establishing a shop in every town in China and ultimately going global. Aptos will be a transformational partner in this journey, supporting us from both a technology and a process perspective,” chairman at Fast Fish Rao Zhong Ming said in a press release.

Previously, Fast Fish relied heavily on its in-season planning process, developing significant responsiveness to actual demand. Despite its strength in in-season planning, the retailer lacked strong preseason planning processes, which could hamper its ability to localise the merchandise offering and support the complexity of its growing business.

“While we are proud of our level of in-season reactivity, we acknowledged that we couldn’t grow our brand and expand internationally if we would just ‘react’ to demand. We had to do a better job upfront with preseason planning and forecasting. Aptos will help us achieve what we internally call ‘Product Intelligence’: a better selection of the right products for different customer segments and stores, which ultimately will lead to higher sales and stronger brand recognition,” Rao said.

Improved planning, earlier in the cycle, will also elevate Fast Fish’s ability to collaborate with suppliers, securing higher product margins and win-win relationships with its partners.

Aptos was selected among competitors for its end-to-end solutions covering all of Fast Fish’s planning needs, as well as for its strong customer base, including many international fast-fashion brands that rely on Aptos to support their transformational journeys.
