Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leader in innovative technology and front-end solutions, has announced that the company displayed newest breakthroughs in PalmSecure Biometrics and Washable/Wearable RFID, at the recent National Retail Federation (NRF) 2018 annual show, which was being held from January 14 to 16, 2018, in New York, in booth #3907.

Fujitsu displayed the recently announced F-Pro palm vein biometric sensor and the Fujitsu STYLISTIC V535 Tablet with embedded F-Pro sensor for reliable authentication in a fixed or mobile Retail environment. The F-Pro features the newest and smallest palm vein biometric sensor to date based on industry-proven PalmSecure technology. The Fujitsu ruggedised tablet features an 8.3” projected capacitive touchscreen display, and is water and dust resistant with over 5-hours runtime.

Fujitsu also demonstrated the washable/wearable WT-A533L UHF RFID fashion tag. Tracking fashion garments, formalwear, and accessories is critical to a successful garment rental enterprise. The 7mm wide tag, Fashion tag, is a clear, ruggedised tag that can be discreetly affixed to high-fashion articles to track their location and combat fraud. With RFID, fashion rental providers will see significant reductions in workflow as they can now scan fashion items in bulk to prevent shipping errors as well as track received items as soon as they come off the truck, without manual sorting. The Fashion tag is designed to withstand normal washing, dry cleaning, and ironing.

Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identity product solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., said, “Fujitsu is extremely excited about the release of the V535 with integrated F-Pro. We are currently working with strategic partners who will enable us to grow our PalmSecure suite of solutions. Tracking fashion garments, formalwear, and accessories is critical to a successful garment rental enterprise. Fashion garment designers and manufacturers will benefit from its small, almost imperceptible design allowing them to provide positive identification of their high value items while reducing incidents of loss and return fraud.” (GK)
