Gerber celebrates 30 years of operations in Central America

Gerber Technology, a business unit of Gerber Scientific Inc is proudly celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Mexico City-based subsidiary, Gerber Technology S.A. de C.V. Gerber provides sales and service to more than 1,500 customers in Mexico and throughout Central America via its offices in Mexico City and Torreon, its agents in Aguascalientes, Guadalajara and Monterrey and field service engineers strategically based in Guatemala, the Yucatan Peninsula and Ciudad Juarez.
Joseph Finelli, Latin America regional director, said, “I joined Gerber Technology when the company began its activities in Mexico. Today, Mexico and Central America account for a significant portion of Gerber's revenues. We are particularly proud of our Mexican colleagues for their dedication and contribution to the success of our subsidiary, and we wish to extend our gratitude to all our customers in the region for their many years of loyalty to Gerber.”
Jorge De Leon, general manager for Mexico and Central America said, “We strive every day to provide the best software, hardware and service solutions to satisfy our customers' most demanding applications. Having worked closely with clients in the region for the past three decades, we understand very well their everyday challenges and recognize what they need from a technology partner.”
In conjunction with the 30th anniversary, Gerber Technology S.A. de C.V. is also celebrating a 30-year-long partnership with educational institutions in the region. To date, Gerber has installed more than 1,500 workstations across tens of colleges and universities.
Dr. Eduardo García, director of Innovation and Education Technology at Universidad del Valle de México (UVM), said, “Our decision to select Gerber to supply computer-aided design technology for pattern creation, conceptual design, 3D modeling and plotting was made after carefully considering the products' competitiveness, overall strength in the industry and, most importantly, the certainty that they would continue to evolve and improve. Gerber not only provides ongoing training for our professors to ensure they stay abreast of advancements, but also develops the skills of our students through seminars, forums and contests. Time and time again, Gerber demonstrates its commitment to our university and to the industry in Mexico.”
