Now get Sears Canada products through smartphones

Sears Canada announced the launch of its first applications for iPhone and Android smartphones.
Sears is the only department store in Canada with a fully transactional mobile website and iPhone/Android applications, giving Canadian customers instant access to the over 80,000 products available at Sears.ca. Customers can now not only browse and research Sears products, but they can also complete a full purchase with the convenience of their smartphone - from anywhere, in English or French.
"Sears is always looking for ways to improve the shopping experience for our customers," said Calvin McDonald, President and CEO of Sears Canada. "With these applications we are introducing a new way for Canadian families to engage with us. Available as a simple download, it's a complete, user-friendly mobile solution that makes online shopping more convenient than ever."
In addition to being fully transactional, the applications are loaded with many special features available only to Sears mobile app users, including exclusive offers and daily deals. As well, the apps make it easy for customers to find the closest Sears Retail, Specialty or Order Pick-up location and, once in-store,
QR codes can be scanned to access additional product information, reviews and videos. Customers gain early access to the weekly flyer as well as instant updates from Sears Canada's mobile Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages.
"As with our Wish Book app that we launched during the 2011 Holiday season, which was one of the 10 most downloaded apps for several weeks, Sears continues to be an industry leader in providing innovative online and mobile retail solutions for Canadian families," added Mr. McDonald.
"With our fully transactional mobile website and smartphone applications, we're excited to provide a whole new channel to build a trustworthy and dependable relationship with Canadian families."
Sears Canada is a multi-channel retailer with a network that includes 196 corporate stores, 285 hometown dealer stores, 30 home services showrooms, over 1,700 catalogue merchandise pick-up locations, 108 Sears Travel offices and a nationwide home maintenance, repair, and installation network.
