AIM, the international industry association and worldwide authority on barcode, RFID, RTLS and mobile computing, has taken a significant step to expand its global presence with the formation of AIM Europe.

With prominent member companies globally and 40 years of leadership in automatic identification and mobility, AIM, Inc. will now consist of AIM Americas, AIM Europe, and chapters representing China and India.

AIM Europe was created to secure a single entity representing the greatest network of AIDC experts across the region, establish a system for industry growth in new and emerging areas, have strategies in place to respond to new technology and market developments, and create the best access to funding for international and national development projects related to AIDC technology, innovations, standards, and applications.

AIM’s European platform represents a significant enhancement for AIM and its members worldwide. AIM Europe will allow for collaborative involvement in critical AIDC opportunities throughout the European region in a variety of areas including healthcare, tracking and tracing, maintenance, safety & security, cloud computing, Internet of Things and smart networks. As the umbrella organization for the existing AIM chapters in Germany, Netherlands, and Russia, AIM Europe will coordinate efforts to provide a stronger, better connected, and funded entity for continued growth and expansion.

Frithjof Walk, a senior executive with FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH has been elected President of AIM Europe. An AIDC industry expert, Walk was instrumental in the development process and said, "This is a major step forward for all individuals and organizations involved in AIDC innovation and technologies throughout the European region. With this announcement, we have established a new, and stronger, voice in the European marketplace that will bring great benefit to our collective efforts.”

This enthusiasm was reflected as well by Chuck Evanhoe, Chairman of the AIM, Inc. Board, and President of Evanhoe & Associates. "Today marks a significant milestone for both our association and the industry. AIM now stands poised for even better future growth and sustainability worldwide,” he said.

"I am excited for our existing major European chapters to see this opportunity which will certainly provide an enhanced representative voice for AIDC stakeholders in Europe. We are committed as an organization to support the establishment of a solid working relationship with the European Commission and cohesively driving the progress of AIDC awareness and implementation in Europe.”
