IEES software of GPRO to amplify efficiency of apparel makers

Industrial Engineering Execution System, IEES, is an analysis tool to help Industrial Engineers in the garment manufacturing industry to do more effective and efficient planning prior to production. With a set of proven standard procedure, Industrial Engineers in the garment factories are able to carry out Industrial Engineering methodologies more efficiently and effectively.
IEES is Pre-Determined Motion-Time System (PMT System) to a variety of industrial and clerical sectors. A PMT System provides a database of recognized times for predetermined and accepted activities that take place within a working environment. PMT Systems are used to evaluate working practices, with a view to establishing the time it takes to perform a given task and to determine the costs associated to that task. PMT Systems evaluate and quantify the processes that are currently used within a given environment, and to re-define those processes to ensure “best practice”, lowest cost and highest productivity.
As a result, IEES has been designed to aid the Industrial Engineers by providing Descriptive Methods Rationalization, Consistent and accurate Time Standards, Costing Designs, Pre-production Planning, Line Balancing, Investment Appraisal, Operator Training, easy to communicate and understand, Methods and time standards are transferable between localtions
The Fundamental of IEES
IEES was developed with co-operation and assistance from several clothing manufacturing companies in Asia using Methods and Time Measurement 2 (MTM-2). MTM-2 is a well established international standard of method for analyzing work tasks to determine how long an average skilled and experienced industrial worker will require to complete a certain task at a rate that can be sustained for an eight hour work day. In practicing MTM-2, a job or task is broken down into specific movements, each of which has a pre-determined time attached to it. Adding up the times assigned for each movement gives the total time to complete the job or task. This total time represents the time standard for the job or task.
MTM has been used by the British and American Industries since 1940s in fields as diverse as shipbuilding, machine shops, stitching and assembly operations from Micro Electronics to Civil Service Departments. Many major UK Companies are turning to MTM to assist them and their staff, to achieve and maintain a more productive working environment.
Real success
When NHABE, a top ten garment producer with 12,000 workers across 15 sites in Vietnam, began pilot rollouts on two lines with IEES, they experienced savings of up to 20 percent (based on their own independent before and after studies). They now have an important centralized style and data library that helps them save money, create more reliable estimates, schedules and improve earnings per worker annually. Today it is replicated on all 14 other sites throughout the country.
Officials of GPRO Technologies are quite confident of response to the software as garment makers were always on the lookout to improve their efficiency and productivity in view of the rising cost in operations.
