HCL establishes first K2 Academy in Madhya Pradesh

HCL Infosystems Limited, India's premier Information Enabler and country's leading ICT System Integrator and Distribution Company has announced an alliance with Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Science (GGITS) to launch HCL K2 Academy in Bhopal and Jabalpur. At HCL K2 Academy the students will be offered industry relevant IT skills in IT hardware, software and networking.

As part of its Educational Institutions Alliance Program, HCL has launched K2 academy with an objective of bridging the gap between the demand and supply of industry-ready ICT professionals, by creating skilled workforce and making them available to organizations deploying ICT.

HCL continues to deliver ICT education and training services through its Career Development Centers also. HCL Education Services offers full spectrum of consumer & business training services. HCL Education is ISO 9001 certified for its processes.

At HCL K2 Academy the students will be offered training on contemporary technologies, projects, industry exposure through principal workshops by Microsoft, Oracle and Redhat and an opportunity of internship at HCL & other associate companies. GGITS will provide the necessary infrastructure for the courses with recommendations from HCL. Qualifying students at the end of curriculum will be awarded a certificate and performance based placement assistance.

As per IDC India the total IT and ITeS industry size will grow to Rs. 5,29,976 Crore (US$ 132 Billion) by 2012, representing a CAGR of 16.5%. This will offer increasing number of job opportunities to youngsters opting for careers in IT.

A study by Cisco-IDC estimates that one-third of companies are not able to fill their demand for networking professionals. Also according to an estimate by E-Value, there is an estimated annual demand of around 2 lakh networking professionals in the country while the supply is limited to about 60% of the demand. The deficit is further estimated to grow at a CAGR of 21% till 2010.
