NRF-EHI Retail Institute announce 7th Annual European Summit

The National Retail Federation and EHI Retail Institute have announced the 7th Annual European Summit to be held June 9 -10, 2009 in Amsterdam. The Summit, one of the most influential retail technology events in the EU will be organized in partnership between NRF and EHI, the co-owners of Euroshop.

"EHI has a proven track record of generating excitement for their events and exuding professionalism in everything they do,” said David Hogan, NRF Senior Vice President and CIO. “We are looking forward to partnering with them for the European Summit this year.”

This year's Summit will feature senior-level retail technology executives from both the United States and the European Union. Speakers will present case studies on business changes supported by technology such as video analytics, business intelligence and the latest in data security trends.

"EHI is very pleased to partner with NRF on the European Retail Technology Summit in Amsterdam. We are looking forward to this yearly event for European retail IT executives to discuss the latest trends and exchange experiences,” said Michael Gerling, Managing Director, EHI Retail Institute.

EHI is a scientific institute of the retail industry. The 500 members of EHI include international retail companies and their industry associations, manufacturers of consumer and capital goods, and various service providers. We research topics relevant to the future of retailing, organise conferences and working groups, operate our own publishing house, and are partners to Messe Düsseldorf in staging the world's biggest capital goods trade fair for the retail business, EuroShop. We offer individual research projects to address specific problems.

The National Retail Federation is the world's largest retail trade association, with membership that comprises all retail formats and channels of distribution including department, specialty, discount, catalog, Internet, independent stores, chain restaurants, drug stores and grocery stores as well as the industry's key trading partners of retail goods and services. NRF represents an industry with more than 1.6 million U.S. retail establishments, more than 24 million employees - about one in five American workers - and 2007 sales of $4.5 trillion. As the industry umbrella group, NRF also represents more than 100 state, national and international retail associations.
