Reliable backup with FalconStor VTL in Vogue with Swiss fashion retailer

FalconStor Software Inc announced that Charles Vögele, the Swiss fashion retail enterprise, has deployed the FalconStor Virtual Tape Library (VTL) solution to provide comprehensive data protection – including storage consolidation, business continuity and disaster recovery – for some 90 terabytes of business data, including 25 terabytes of production data. The Swiss fashion retailer has also been able to shrink its backup window dramatically with FalconStor VTL.
Charles Vögele works with substantial volumes of data on a daily basis - the total of 25 terabytes in its storage area network (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) environment has been growing at 10 percent annually and, under current processes, is backed up daily. As part of a comprehensive reform of its data strategy, the company chose FalconStor VTL for its combination of storage consolidation, business continuity, and disaster recovery capabilities, plus its enhanced backup and recovery performance.
FalconStor software's TOTALLY Open architecture means that Charles Vögele was able to deploy FalconStor VTL without restrictions on all of its hardware platforms and software operating systems, including Linux, IBM AIX, IBM N-series, Microsoft Windows, Network Appliance and its virtualized server environment. FalconStor VTL is specifically designed to offer reliable, fast, efficient backups and restores for large enterprises.
“First and foremost, FalconStor VTL was an easy deployment and guarantees us rapid recovery,” said Siegfried Eberdorfer, head of Systems & Database Administration at Charles Vögele. “This ensures that our daily business activities can proceed without disturbance.
